Tekes

10/14- 10/15

On Thursday, we woke up at 7AM to go paintballing and were shown basic army tactics, like how to safely turn a corner and how to clear a house. Things we will need to know when we will be in the army.
We split into 4 teams and played a few games and weren’t given a lot of bullets so we had to play smart without wasting any.
We all did pretty well and had fun.

After lunch, 4 slices of cheeseless pizza, we went back to the Old City and got ready for the Swearing in Ceremony – Tekes Hashbaah- of the last Nachal and Shayetet draft.
The Tekes was held at The Kotel and it was amazing, so many people were there to watch. After 4 months or more of basic training the recruits are sworn in by oath and are now officially soldiers in the IDF.
All the soldiers were given their guns and were in perfect formation. It really got me excited. I can't wait, and in a few months I’ll be in the same place.

We went back to the Aish building in the Old City and spoke to the guys from the last program that are now soldiers and watched some videos. Went out tonight finally to relax on  Ben Yehudah and then a friend’s apartment. Got home around 5am .
